MAIN ROADS.
to the editor oe the akaroa mail. Sir, —Amongst the works for which the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board are requiring tenders, I regret to see that there is no mention of '' repairs to main roads." The elections for the County Council having taken place, I presume that this body will soon commence work, and one of its duties will be t-rfe 'charge of main roads. Now', if these roads are handed over in bad repair, the cost of putting them in order will fall heavily on the ratepayers, and I would suggest to our Road Board that to prevent the necessity of this the roads should be put in order out of the funds at present in their hands. The need of it will be felt by any one who will ride over the German Bay Hill, through Robinson's Bay, and over the "Christchurch road towards the House on the Hill-top. - I am, &c,
PENINSULA.
