Dunstan District Hospital.

The regular monthly meeting of trustees was held in the secretary's office on Tuesday, the 10th inst, at 8 p.m. i Present Messrs C. C. Hutton (chairman), H. Edser (treasurer), T. Barry, B. Naylor, jun, W. 0. Fitches, and J. Wilson. The minutes of meetings of 6th and 19th December were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read and received. The visiting committee reported everything in and about the institution to be satisfactory. The surgeon's report as follows was read and received :—No. of patients in hospital Ist December 5; since admitted to 31st 6; discharged relieved or cured 6; remaining in hospital 31st December 4; died during the month one. This patient was moribund when admitted and died within 24 hours of admittance. The patients admitted were from Clyde 1, Earnscleugh 1, Bald Hill Flat 1, Ida Valley 1, Moutere 1. The treasurer's statement showing a debit balance of £lO6 6s 3d including bank overdraft £4B 3s 7d, and assets Government subsidy J825 5s Od, was read and received. Accounts, salaries, and supplies for the month of December—£s7 2s 8d passed for payment. The question of election of trustees was deferred to the annual meeting of contributors on the 12th inst. The meeting then closed. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above institution was held on Thursday afternoon, when there was a fair attendance of subscribers. Mr W C Fitches was voted to the chair. An apology for non-attendance, owin£>3 absence on business, was read from the chairman, Mr 0 C Hutton. The report and balance-sheet was placed on the table and adopted. It was resolved to appoint a paid collector, owing to the subscriptions not coming up to expectations. Mr T Barry was. unanimously re-j elected a trustee. A vote of thanks was accorded the outgoing trustees, also to the surgeon and staff. The meeting then terminated.
