Dunstan District Hospital

The regular monthly meeting of trustees was held on 6th December 1904. Present.—Messrs 0. 0, Hutton (chairman). B Naylor jun, E. M'Manus, T. Barry, W. 0. Pitches, and Jas. Wilson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence as follows were read and received : From ex-patients re dues for maintenance. From contributory local authorities notifying the election of trustees as follows :~Alexandra Borough, Mr W. C. Fitches; Cromwell Borough, Mr W. 0. Pitohes; Naseby Borough, Mr J. Smart; Maniototo County, Mr W. S, Laidlaw and W. C. Pitches. The visiting committee reported everything in and about the institution as satisfactory. The surgeon reported as follows: Number of patients in hospital beginning of month 3, since admitted 4, discharged during month 2, remaining in, Ist December 5, outdoor treated 3. The patients admitted were from Bald Hill Flat, Alexandra, Chatto Creek and Ophir hospital. The treasurer's report showing a debit balance at date of £259 9s lOd, including October and November accounts was read and received.

The secretary stated as against the debit balance there was £145 16s Id payable by the Central Otago Hospital Board at the end of the month, and £33 6s 7d Government subsidy, was due; He further said that so far this year the subscriptions were only £4l, while the estimated receipts from subscriptions for the year was £l5O. The secretary said . the subscription lists sent throughout the district were expected ""to be' returned by the 15th inst. Up to date he had received four with the amounts collected namely— Olyde Dredging Company £2 2s 6d, Unity Company £2 Ob 6d, Perseverance Company (two dredges) £6 10s 6d Earnscleugh (two dredges) £4 2s 6d, After discussion it was resolved— That a special meeting of the trustees to be held on Wednesday, the 21st inst., to consider the financial position and if necessary appoint a collector. Resolved—That tenders be invited for the purchase of the windmill and pump by advertisement in the Dunstan Times and to close on Thursday, 12th January 1905, at noon. Resolved—That Mr Hutton conduct the cases in the S.M. court, Clyde, on Saturday, against ex - patients for arrears of dues. Resolved—That the consideration of elections of trustees by local contributing bodies be deferred until the annual meeting of contributors on Thursday, 12th January, 1905. The meeting then closed.
