Bowling.

A meeting of those interested in the formation of a bowling club in Alexandra was held in the Bendigo Hotel on the 9th inst. There were about a dozen gentlemen present, and Mr E. M. Bellamy was voted to the chair. The chairman explained the object for which the meeting had been convened, and one of the gentlemen present, who has had considerable experience in bowling, explained what was required in the way of forming a green. He estimated the cost of making and fencing a green at about .£IOO. If the club could raise a membership of 30 or 40, there should be no difficulty in establishing a club, and the cost per head would not be great. Aft»r some further discussion it was resolved that Messrs Bellamy, O'Kane, and Buchanan, be appohved a sub-com-Imittee to canvass for members, and report to a meeting to be convened in about a fortnight's time,
