i The following business of local interest was transacted at last week's meeting of the Waste Lands Boards The board considered Ranger O'Neills-report on the application by T H Duck for an occupation lease under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act over an area of 40 acres in block VI, Liuder district;— To"be advertised and referred to the Warden for report. A further report from the warden on the application by M'Adie Bros for an area of 334 acres on Run No 261 a, Poo burn district was brought before the board. Outten and Hjorring forwarded a petition signed by 41 miners and other residents objecting to the granting of the application.—Consideration was deferral in accordance with f he warden's request pending the completion of arrangements suggested by nim.
