Otago Oentral Railway.
wiago v/enirai n«nw««. Mr B Flannery, of Ophir, advises u.B that he has received from the Minister of Public Works the following telegram in reply to an enquiry as to when.the railway would be opened to Ophir:— «<B Flannery, Esq., Ophir.—Your wire received. Line will not be fully completed, owing to heavy frosts, until October. lam endeavoring to arrange with working Railway Department to carry passengers and goods as from Ist September. Will advise you further later on.—W Hall-Jonis."
A meeting was held at Ophir on Saturday evening last, when it was decided to take steps to fittingly celebrate the opening of the line.
