Bbitish Puemier's Sunday
Golfing.
A Yorkshire correspondent wrote to the Archbishop of Cani'erburyj draws ing his attention to the report thit Mr Balfour played golf on Sunday, The Primate's private secretary replied in the following terms ; " The Arshbishop of Canterbury directs me to thank you. " Detailed rules to be adopted by any conscientious Christian man with regard to the observance of Sunday are, in the Archbishop's judgment, a matter for his conscience, as it is certain that the Christain Church has never laid down detailed directions affecting the action of individuals in this matter. " Each of them is responsible to God for so using the Lord's Day to fit him best for the workings days that fallow,"
