The dredges at the Nevis have beon shut down for the winter. Mr A. H. VerntranKing, of Dunedin, notifies that he is prepared to purchase alluvial gold at one shilling per ounce above present ruling rates, The directors of the Olrig Gold Dredging Company have declared a dividend (the tenth) of Is per share, payable on Friday, 17th inst. The manager of the Undaunted Sluicing claim, Matakanui, reports a return of 350z 13dwt fiom the boxes for 12 days sluicing. Mr A E Inder, mining engineer, of Dunedin, advertises in this issue for a dredgemaster for West Africa. - The directors of the Manuherikia Dredging Company have declared a dividend (the 15th) of Is per share. The directors of the Mitau Dredging Company have procured a set of second-hand buckets, to replace those lately in use. The dredge will probably be able to resume work in about a fortnight's time,
