Opening of New Hotel.
On Friday evening last, Mr F Gorman entertained a large number of guests on the occasion of the opening of the new Caledonian Hotel. Mr J Kelman, in an appropriate speech, proposed the health of the host and hostess, which was enthusiastically honored, The health ef the contractor (Mr T Wilkinson) was also duly honored. Subsequently, a largely attended and enjoyable stance was held in the town hall. Our report of the proceedings, wi hj a de«criptiau c\ hew building, is unavoidably heM uver till next issue.
