Sporting Notes.
Owners are finally reminded that nominations for the Goldfields* Cup and the Middle-class Handicap, to be run at the forthcoming meeting of the Central. Otago Trotting Club, close this evening at 10 o'clock.
At the annual meeting of the Vincent Jockey Club held at Ophir on the 29tb nit., the balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £SOB 9s 3d. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—Presi. dent, Mr Will Laidlaw; Vice-presidents, Messrs Jack and Huddlestone; starter, Mr R M'Skimming (remuneration £10).; handi* capper, Mr J Paget (remuneration £ls 16s>; clerk of coarse, Mr W Richards j clerk of scales, Mr O Naylor; clerk of totalizator, Mr J D Buchanan; treasurer, Mr T C Donnelly; timekeeper, Mr Gerkens; audi* tor, Mr Murphy. The secretary was voted a bonus of £2O, and it was resolved that In future the secretary's salary be £3O. It was decided to give £SOO in slakes at the next race-meeting on January I and 2,1906. At the Christchurch Easter meeting on Monday the Great Easter Handicap was won by Vladimir, who beat Kremlin by a head. The following are the results of Tuesday's races:—Hurdles—Catherine Gordon ; Nursery—Golden Jjily; Yaldhurst—Djin Djin ; Autumn Handicap—Bulawayo; ChallengeMartian; Templeton—Petrovna; Plate— Quickfire; Final—Secret Society,
