Sporting Notes.
The programme of the Central Otago Trotting Club's meeting has been approved of bytheN.ss. Trotting Association. The club has now a membership of 104, and, judging by the interest being exhibited throughout the district, the meeting should be a most successful one. The privileges in con* nection with the meeting will be sold by auction on Saturday, 9th prox, Owners are reminded that nominations for the Goldfields Qup (2 miles, of 4Qsovs) and the Middle-class Han« dicap (1£ miles, of SOsovs), to be run at the Central Otago Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra on April 22nd, olose on Thursday, April 7tb, at 10 o'clock p.m. .
The Canterbury Jockey Club have decided to try the experiment of a 5s totalisator on faster Monday and Tuesday. The club havp under consideration thp idea of a ( double event' totaiisator on the Easter and Autumn' Handicaps, available *C occupants of beth enclosures. Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting on Saturday, Lieutenant J has 4>c and Lauderhill ssec, the limit being Bsec. In the Speedwell Handicap Georgie M is con ceded ssec, the limit being Usee.
