Lawn Tennis.
A team representing the Naseby Tennis Club visited Alexandra on Saturday last, when they played a match against representatives of the Alexandra Club, on the latter's courts. Considerable interest was manifested in the match, and. some very Interesting games were witnessed. , The day V play resulted in a somewhat easy victory for Alexandra by a majority of 62 games. Additional interest was lent to the m&tch owing to the fact that Mr C. Thompson, runner-up for the Otego championship, was included in the visiting team; but, contrary to expectation, he was defeated in the Singles by the local crack, Mr J A O'Kane,'by 9to 6. - > Afternoon tea was provided by, the ladies of the local club, and the visitors were entertained at a ' social' iu the town hall in the evening.
