Opening of the Alexandra Waterworks.

'•' » - —- The Borough Council has decided to celebrate the official opening of the waterworks to-morrow (Friday), and the Mayor has requested the business people and citizens to observe a day after noon. The proceedings will commence at 2 p.m, when His Worship the Mayor, will declare the waterworks open, and will give an address on the occasion. In the afternoon a picnic and sports for the children w>ll be held in the recreation reserve, and in the evening a social for adults will be held in the town hall. As the consummation of the waterworks scheme marks an important epoch in the history of Alexandra, we trust that the people of the town will -unite in making Friday's function one worthy of the occasion.
