At a meeting of the Alexandra Jockey Club held on Monday evening, the tender of Mr J. Rivers was aceepted for the supply of galvanised iron pipes (lin and §-inch), for tho purpose of laying water on to the course pressure. The pipes have already been ordered and will be laid down as soon as they are delivered on the ground. The Club are inviting tenders for the fencing of the reserve. Tenders close on the 14th inst.
During the past week, one or two owners from various parts of the district, who have visited the course, have expressed themselves as being thoroughly satisfied with the stale of the track, and they highly appreciate the efforts that are being made by the Club to improve the ground.
