Some ten members of the abeve club met at the race-course on Saturday to shoot for a clock, presented by Mr Jag. F. Thompson. Tne conditions were ten birds at unknown angles, and the winner turned up in Mr A. Denniston, who, firing from the 13yds mark, broke all his birds. Following are detailed scores : A Denniston (13yds), HillUlll ... io C Tohill (syds), 0001111111 7

J Smith (syds), 000001110 ... N Brown (syds), OOOtIOIOO ...

A Dunsmuir (syds), 1000 (retired)

A good deal of interest is now being taken in this form of sport, which is comparatively new to this district, and the membership of the local club is steadily increasing, the ranks having lately been added to by a number of new members from Clyde, It is satisfactory to note that the younger shots are steadily improving,'and by the end of the season Alexandra should be able to put a formidable team in the field.

We observe that a club has lately been formed at Cromwell, the first competition having been held on the 26th August, when the winner turned up in D. Oahill. The second -match held on September 23rd, was won by J. Watt. It is the intention of the club to issue a challenge to the Alexandra club later on in the season. There are now four clubs in the district—-viz., Alexandra, Bald Hill Flat, Cromwell, and Ida Valley—the latter having been in existence for some years.
