The following business of local-in-terest was transacted at last week's meeting of. the Otago Waste Lands Board : j j > Neil Nicholson, president of the St t Bathans Racing Club, wrote asking ! that an area of about 100 acres on Keenan's run, St. Bathans, be set aside as a racecourse reserve.—Held over for further consideration. G- H. Paul wrote withdrawing his application for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Occupation Act, 1894," over 15 acres of Moutere Run—Agreed to. Jobn Ewing wrote in regard to application made by William Mills for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 100 acres on Run 226, St. Bathans. —Received. James H. Truesdale applied for 100 acres on Matakanui Run on Jease-in-perpetuity, adjoining section 9, block vn, Lauder.—Held over. The Board considered the following applications for occupation leases under
" The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," the wardens forward ing reports:— John Sheehy, 30 acres on run 249, Leaning Rock district...Held over for Mr Sheehy to comply with the suggestion of the board who inspected the land.—W. C. Nicholson, 4 acres in block i, Fraser district.. Granted, subject to survey; surveyor to assess value of land. —< Vaven Paget, 25 acres in block i, Fraser district... Granted, subject to survey; surveyor to assess value of land.—Francis Mackenzie, 20 acres on run 240, Leaning Rock district...Gran ted, subject to survey; surveyor to assess value of land.
