Co-operative Bakery and Butchery.

The adjourned meeting of those in favor of establishing a co-operative bakery and butchery in the district was held at Mr Hesson's boarding house, Alexandra, on Tuesday evening. There were about 20 persons present, and Mr E. Appleton was voted to the chair. After some discussion, it was resolved to draw up a prospectus of a company with a capital ot £ISOO, to carry out the project. One of the local butchers, and also one of the bakers, were present and offered to negotiate for the sale of their respective businesses. Another meeting to further consider the matter will be held on Saturday evening.
