INDISCRIMINATE SHOOTING.
TO THB EDITOR. Sis, —Can you tell me why it is that persons are allowed to discharge rifles within the Borough, to the danger and annoyance of residents? On two or three occasions lately some young men have amused themselves by practising rifle-shooting at a kerosene tin, at the upper end of the Borough, and several of the bullets came whistling past my house, one bullet striking the ground only a few yards from where I was standing. Surely, sir, this sort of thing should be stopped, for if it is continued an accident will assuredly happen, sooner or later. I was informed that the offenders were firing with volunteer rifles, but on this point I cannot speak with certainty. Anyway, I hope steps will be taken to prevent a recurrence of the nuisance.—l am <fcc, Ratbpatbb. Alexandra, January 19th.
