STEER SHATTERS WINDOW

EXPLOIT IN POWER BOARD OFFICE (P.A.) BLENHEIM, February 2S. One of the first callers at the Marlborough Power Board’s office after the doors opened for business yesterday ■was a large black poll steer. It walked in from the street in a leisurely, dignified 'manner;' ignored the startled cashier and headed straight forethe office of the manager-engineer (Mr G. F. McLean). The drover and some power board employees persuaded it to leave, but when nearing the front door the steer decided that the time for dignity had passed and it took a short cut through a plate glass window which. was completely shattered. The steer then rejoined the mob from which it bad strayed and resumed its journey.
