MID-CANTERBURY SUBASSOCIATION

REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES The president, Mr T. L. Crooks, presided over a fair attendance at the monthly meeting of delegates of the Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association. Final arrangements were made for the representative matches to be played on l March 11. It was decided to hold the Town v. Country Day on Saturday, April 1, when trophies won during this season would be presented. Mr N. Gosnell was appointed secretary for the remainder of this season, being replaced as convener of the match committee, and a selector by Mr J. Russell and Mr M. Jordan respectively. Unfinished B grade handicap tournament matches are to be completed by, or on, Saturday, April 1, these matches being as follows: B Grade, Handicap Combined Doubles—D. Evans and Miss S. Cocks v. R. Pearce and Miss J. McEachen, W. Small and Miss B. Blee v. —, C. Thomas and Miss Crossman v. F. Amos and Miss McKay, D. Clay and Miss A. Holmes v. —, N. Reid and Miss D. Owen v. G. Long and Miss MeCosker, S. Lemon and Miss H. Bland v. L, Thomas and Miss B. Taylor. B Grade, Women’s Doubles—Miss D. Owen and Mrs D. -Martin v. Misses B. Taylor and P. Crossman. Final: Misses A. Hayes and H. King v. —— The B grade inter-club competition will conclude with the playing of the sixth round on March 18.
