FIVE DAYS ON SPARTAN DI?T LONDON, Feb. 23. Nine British, sailors have satisfactorily completed a. five-day Arctic survival trial on. a spartan diet of condensed milk, toffee, and water- in temperatures' below freezing point. The nine men —all vounteers —embarked in a new type of life-raft incorporating a tent. They wore specially designed rubber suits and carried out trials amid snow and gales to test the ability of men to survive very cold conditions at sea.
