PRAISE PROM THE COLONEL Lieut.-Colonel J. R. H. Hutchison, M.P., told Glasgow women Conservatives: “Women are supposed to gossip— I never found one who violated a secret. They were ‘closer’ in 'many ways than men. “Women are supposed to be unpunctual—the most punctual and the best drivers we had were women from the F.A.N.Y. “It is. sometimes said that w<?men lack physical courage ” Then he told of four young girls from the F.A.N.Y. who joined his underground organisation, were parachuted into France ,and later captured by the Germans. They were burned in a furnace. “These girls,” said the colonel, “performed prodigies of valour.”
