LINTON COAL MINE
TWO-DAY STOPPAGE OP WORK (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Feb. 24. After a meeting that lasted until 11 a.m., workmen at the Linton coal mine, Ohai, yesterday returned home. A further meeting was called this morning, but again because of the late hour the meeting closed the men did not. return to work. Although no official statement was given by either, the or the miners, it is unuerstood that the dispute concerns truckers’ earnings. Normal work will be resumed on Monday. The LiruOiTmine, which was taken over by the State on October 1, 1939, is under private management until March 31.
