GOOD PROGRESS
ALLENTON, KINDERGARTEN At the annual meeting of the Alienton Kindergarten Committee there was an excellent attendance, which indicated the keen interest in kindergarten affairs in Allenton. The annual report, presented by the convener (Mrs H. G. Kemp) showed that the kindergarten had had a very successful year. The attendance of children at both the kindergarten and play centre had been good, and there was a considerable waiting list. The following officers were elected: Convener, Mrs L. M. Breeze; deputyconvener, Mrs A. Mason; secretary, Mrs D. Silverwood; treasurer, Mrs D. Wood. After the meeting Mrs Kemp welcomed the members 'of the staff, Miss F. Wilson, relieving director, Misses L. Gunn and J. Miller, and visiting members of the East Ashburton Kindergarten Committee. Items given by Misses J. Knox, S. Church and N. Cullen, with accompaniments by Miss Bryant and Mrs J. Houston, were much appreciated.
