SIR MAX PEMBERTON DEAD
NOTED NOVELIST AMD PLAYWRIGHT LONDON, February 22. Sir Max Pemberton, well-known as a novelist and playwright, died from pneumonia to-day, at Ins London home.' He was 86 years of age. He had been an invalid since 1945. Sir Max' Pemberton was a former editor of “Chums” and. "Cassel’s Magazine.” He was* a director ot Northcliffe Newspapers. He published his first novel in 1891. His books included “The Iron Pirate, “My Sword for Lafayette,” and Captain Black.” He was knighted in 1928.
