LIGHT FROST THIS MORNING The weather in Ashburton to-day was dull and overcast, but temperatures were mild. Although the barometer read 29.94 inches at. 9 o’clock \his morning it had risen to over 30 degrees by 10.30. A light frost of .3 degrees was featured this morning. Recordings taken at the Domain meteorological office at 9 o’clock this morning, and having reference to the previous 24-hour period were, as fol-* low: —Maximum temperature, 67.2 degrees, minimum 38.5 degrees, earth 57.0 degrees, barometer 29.94 inches. The sun shone for 10.4 hours yesterday.

OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General situation: An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Light variable winds; morning mist, or low cloud, but weather otherwise fair to fine; warm day temperatures. Outlook: Fair. SUN, MOON AND TIDES Sun rose to-day, 6.05 a.m.; sets, 7.23 p.m. Sun rises to-morrow, 6.06 a.m.; sets, 7.22 p.m. First Quarter, February 25, 1.52 p.m. Full moon, March 4, 10.34 p.m. Last Quarter, March 11, 2.38 p.m. New Moon, March 19, 8.20 a.m. High tide on the County coast tomorrow, 11.9 a.m. and 11.32 p.m.
