BRITISH JET AIRLINER
COMET MAKES LONGEST TEST FLIGHT LONDON, Feb. 22. The aviation correspondent of “The Times” says that the de Havilland Comet, the world’s iirst four-jet airliner, made the longest test flight yesterday when it cruised round the British Isles for five and three-quarter hours, covering between 2000 and 3000 miles. It climbed to 41,500 feet, which is about its proposed operational altitude.
