NOR-EASTERLY WIND TO-DAY Temperatures in Ashburton to-day were again warm, although a moderate north-easterly wind made condi tions slightly unpleasant. Recorciings taken at the Domain meteorological station, covering the 24 hours to 9 o’clock this morning, were as follow: Maximum temperature 70.4 degrees, minimum 43.2 degrees, earth 56.7 degrees, barometer 29.94 inches. Only 3.3 hours of sunshine were recorded yesterday.
FINE DAYS EXPECTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, _at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone is situated over the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows:
Light to moderate winds, variable inland, with north-easterlies on the coast, and weather fine, with warm day temperatures. Further outlook: Similar conditions.
