CARNIVAL AT TIMARU At the South End (Timaru) Amateur Swimming Club’s inter-club carnival, held in Timaru last evening, Ashburton swimmers secured many successes, and second in the points aggregate. Johnstone (East) 1. 50 Yards Breaststroke, Grade 2—Second Division: Miss M. Lewis (East) 2. 50 Yards Freestyle, Grade I—Secondl—Second Division: C. Cooke (East) 3. Third Division: K. McCormick (East) 3. Fourth Division: H. Waller (Allenton) 1, J. McPherson (East) 2. Fifth Division: J. Turner (East) 1, E. Buchanan (Ashburton) 3. 50 Yards Freestyle, Grade 2—First Division: A. Johnstone (East) 3. Third Division: R. Williams (Allenton) 2. 220 Yards Relay—Second Division: Ashburton (E. Buchanan, T. Timms, M. Frew, A. Williams) 1, East (G. Strange, I. EvldS, N. Watson and M. Hanson) 2. In the aggregate, South End secured 139 points and Ashburton 87.
