RING STOLEN FROM UNLOCKED HOUSE

TH(EF KNOCKED AND WENT IN (P.A.) ' NELSON, Feb. 20. The theft of two diamond rings was admitted in the Magistrate’s Court by Clive -Vivian, aged 25, a married man. He also pleaded guilty-to charges of breaking, entering, and theft. He was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence. In a statement the accused said that about 10 o’clock one morning he -was walking along a street in Nelson when he saw a car pull away from a house. He walked to the house, knocked, and found no one home. As the door -was not locked he went in. In an upstairs bedroom he found a five-stone diamond ring, which he took. The accused said he found the other ring in Dunedin.
