REBEL REGIME IN INDO-CHINA
REPORTED PLANS FOR OFFENSIVE LONDON, February 19. The New China News Agency reported to-night that the Vietminh National Assembly had sent a telegram to the Chinese People’s Republic announcing “preparations for a general counter-offensive to smash French imperialism and secure final victory in Indo-China.” ' The telegram, which was sent to mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Vietminh rebel Government of Dr. Ho Chi-minh and Communist China, said* that the Vietminh supporters had been greatly encouraged by the consolidation of the friendship between the Chinese and Vietminh peoples, “who are fighting side by side against reactionary im perialisms in order to build democracy.”
