The Government Meteorologist, _at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding«»the weather: General situation—There' is an anticyclone over north and central New Zealand and a depression southwest of the South Island. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Moderate northerly winds, turning temporarily to the south-west to-mor-row morning. Apart from showers in the ranges, weather fair at first, but some scattered showers developing with the wind changes; temperatures moderate. Outlook—Fair.
