FLOWER SHOW AT MAYFIELD
COUNTY CENTRES
W.D.F.F. AND W.I. DISPLAY A very successiul flower show was held in the Mayfield Hall by the members of the Women’s Institute and Women’s Division of Federated Farmers of Mayfield, Anana and Ruapuna. The president of the W.I. (Mrs R.'W. Oakley) presided. The judges were Mr and Mrs 11. Millieliamp, of Ashburton, who commented on the floral work especially mentioning the high standard reached in the decorative section. A spray made by Miss E., Goldsmith was presented to Mrs Millichamp. Musical items were contributed by Mesdames J. Quantock and J. Jacobs, and recitations by Mrs 11. R. Tasker. Votes of thanks to the judges, stewards, performers and hostesses, were passed on the motion, of the president of the Mayfield W.D.F.F. (Mrs T. Taylor) . The results of the classes were as follows:—■

SEAFIELD W.D.F.F. Mrs H. Driscoll presided over a very small attendance of the Seafield W.D.F.F., held recently. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames .T. Watr son and A. Rankin. Competitions resulted as follows:.. Large bloom, Mrs R. Grice 1, small Mrs R. Martin 1, Mrs R. Grice 2; spike, Mrs R. Martin 1, Mrs R. Grice. 2; shrub, Mrs R. Martin 1; vase, 3 varieties gladiolis, Mrs A. Rankin 1; champion bloom, Mrs R. Grice 1, Mrs A. Rankin 2; best lettuce, Mrs A. Rankin 1: slice Xmas cake, Mrs H. Driscoll 1, Mrs R. Grice 2; 3 varieties jam, Mrs R. Martin 1, Mrs A. Rankin 2; tumbler of healthgiving drink, Mrs .A. Driscoll.
