WARM TEMPERATURES
Temperatures in Ashburton to-day were very warm, with the sun shining brilliantly from a clear sky. Recordings take.n at 9 o’clock this morning were:—Maximum temperature 68.4 degrees, minimum 47.2 degrees, earth 59.6 degrees, barometer 29.53 inches. The sun shone for 5.7 hours yesterday.
OUTLOOK PAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone is approaching the South Island across the South Tasman Sea and there is a depression north of New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: — Moderate south-west winds, becoming variable to-morrow; weather cloudy, with some occasional showers, but improving in South Canterbury; temperatures cooler. Further outlook: Fair.
