YOUTH MEETS YOUTH

Ashburton Visit Curtailed Arrangements have been finalised for the entertainment in Ashburton of the party of six young Englishmen and Dr. G. F. Morton, of Leeds, who are touring New Zealand on a good will mission under the auspices of the Yorkshire Rotary Clubs and youth organisations.

The party will arrive in Ashburton from Timaru about 10 a.m. on Monday February 27, and after morning tea at the High School members will address senior pupils of the High and Technical Schools. The visitors will then attend the Rotary Club luncheon, at which the speaker will be Dr. Morton. Representatives of the secondary schools’ staffs, Young Farmers’ Clubs, Toe H, the Junior Chamber of Commerce and other organisations will also attend the luncheon.

Arrangements are being made for the visitors'to inspect the irrigation works in the county and the Highbank power station, and after an evening meal the party will leave for Christchurch.
