MISS JACKSON BACK HOME / (Rec. 11.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Empire Games champion, Marjorie Jackson, said on arrival from New Zealand that she was keen to go ro America before the 1952 Olympic Games for experience on cinder trdcks About 6000 persons stood in pouring rain at Lithgow for over an, hour to welcome Miss Jackson. Because of fog and rain the car was delayed in its climb up the mountains. Miss Jackson was carried shoulder high while the Lithgow City Band played “See the Conquering Hero Comes.”
The Mayor, Alderman A. S. Luchetti presented her with a huge golden key representing the freedom of her own home town of Lithgow
