FRENCH SHIP IN DIFFICULTIES

VANGUARD TO RESCUE (Rec. 10.0 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 13. . Britain’s biggest battleship, the 42,500 tons H.M.S. Vanguai'd, to-day took in tow the, 4512-ton French cargo ship Boffa, which called for help in storm-tossed teas off the coast of Spain last night. / This news was given in a radio message from the warship. The Vanguard had stood by after the Boffa had signalled that her cargo was shifting in a gale, and that she was in difficulty because of storm damage. The Vanguard, in which the King and Queen sailed to South Africa, was returning to England after exercises in the Mediterranean. The seas were still high when the Vanguard took the stricken vessel in tow.
