DULL AND OVERCAST
The weather in Ashburton to-day was dull and overcast, with a southwesterly wind. The maximum temperature for the 24 hours ended 9 o’clock,.this morning was 65.1, as against 57.2 on Sunday, and the minimum 51.0 conpared with 46.0. Other recordings were:—Barometer 29.59 (29.72), earth temperature 59.7 and sunshine'B.B hours (—).
OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: There is an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea and a cold front is moving across New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: — !t Moderate south-west winds, becoming variable to-morrow; weather fair, cool night and mild day temperatures. Further outlook: Fair.
