CANTERBURY TEAMS PLAY. GAMES AGAINST ASHBURTON Representative matches between Ashburton and Canterbury basketball teams were played in the Domain on afternoon. Despite recent rain the grounds were in good order, and an excellent exhibition of the game

was given, particularly in the senior grade. Results were:— Canterbury B 29, Ashburton A 26 (Referee, Mrs McKenzie). Ashburton B 9, Canterbury C 5 (Referee, Mr S. G. Macfaa’lane). TECHNICAL WIN JUNIOR GRADE. The junior competition of the Ashburton BasketbaJl Association was concluded on Saturday afternoon, Technical winning with Tinwald next and St. Andrew’s third. Details of the final games were:—Allenton 14, High School 9; Technical A 17, St, Andrew’s 7; Tinwald 15, High School Old Girls 12; High School 16, St. Andrew’s 16; Technical A 28, High School Old Girls 8; Tinwald 11, Alienton 11. Junior Representatives. The following junior representative Vteam has been selected to play against Timaru on Saturday next:— * Forwards—Misses M. Rogers, J. Hurst, L. Ralston, R. Spai'row. Centres.—Misses H. McCrea, K. Brosnahan, M. Bell. Defenders.—Misses B. Nordstrum, M. McCrea, M. Hill, D. Hooper.
