DEADLOCK ENDED
NEWCASTLE MINERS' STRIKE. MEN GIVE A GUARANTEE. NO STAY-IN DURING PARLEYS, (United Press Association—Copyright,) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The deadlock which held the Broken Hill Proprietary collieries in the Newcastle district idle for more than a week has ended. Members of the Miners’ Federation employed at the three pits—John Darling, Birwood,, and Lambton B.—decided to give the guarantee, recommended by the Miners’ Central Council, that there will be no more stay-in strikes at their mines pending completion of the negotiations between the Miner’s’ Federation and the New South Wales coal-owners on the subject- or wages and conditions.
