TOURIST TRAFFIC.
INADEQUATE ACCOMMODATION (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August 6. At a meeting of the South Island’s Travel Association to-night, a resoluion was passed urging the Government to complete the Milford Boad as soon possible. It was also advocated that the outstanding attractions of Stewart Island as a tourist resort should receive more attention at the hands of the Government, which should be asked to erect a modern tourist hostel there. In a report presented to the meeting, concern was expressed at the existing inadequate accommodation for tourists and the obstructive effect in this regard of the new industrial laws. The desirability of urging the Government to set up a tribunal to examine the whole question of hotel accommodation. The Rev. E. T. Cox (Mayor of Dunedin) was elected president.
