PERSONAL.
The Minister for Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) will pay a brief yisit to the wheatgrowing areas between Christchurch and Ashburton on August 17. He will stay in Ashburton that night and return to Wellington the following day, after inspecting the Glassworks. He holies to pay a ! visit to the Woollen Mills, also. The Minister will return to Ashburton a month later to go into questions of wheat-growing. Mr It. Houston was yesterday reappointed as the Ashburton County Council’s representative on the Technical High School Board of Managers. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr F. W. Watt was carried yesterday afternoon at the meeting of the Ashburton Plunket Society, members standing in silence. Mr Watt was for many years honorary auditor and a member of the Advisory Board of the society.
