MARCONI’S LAST HOUR.
TOUCHING INCIDENTS. ' IL DTJCE AT THE BEDSIDE. ROME, July 20. The first words of the Pater Noster were on the lips of Marchese Marconi when he died early this morning, according to Monsignor Ratti, a relative of the Pope, who administered the last Sacrament. During the night the Marchese had become seriously ill and said to his valet: “I am sorry, but I am going to put you and your friends to some trouble. I fear my end is near.” Previously Marconi had dictated a message to his daughter Elettra foi her seventh birthday, which is to-day. He was heard to say how fond she was of fruits and sweets. He was also heard to say his wife's name, “Maria, and “Italia.” Ho then lapsed into unconsciousness. The first caller in the morning was Signor Mussolini. He knelt by the bedside and remained a quarter of an hour. He was followed by other high personages.
