THRONE OFFERED
TO THE DUKE OF KENT. POLISH MONARCHISTS DESIRE. NO SOVEREIGN SINCE 1795. (United Press Association—-Copyright) ■ LONDON, August 4. The Warsaw correspondent of the “Daily Mirror” reports that the executive of the Polish Monarchist Party passed a resolution inviting the Duke of Kent to accept the Polish Throne, which has been vacant since 1795. The resolution is being sent to the Duke, who is at present visiting southern Poland. The Monarchist organ, “Glos” points out that Poland is situated between 'Russia and Germany. “If Poland bad the Duke of Kent as King,” it adds, “she would be linked with the world’s greatest Empire jmd greatest democracy. The Duke of Kent possesses all the attributes necessary for a monarch.”
