TRAP SHOOTING.
METHVEN GUN CLUB. The second of a. series of Grand National trap shooting matches held by the Canterbury gun clubs took place at the Methven Gun Club’s grounds on Tuesday afternoon. There was a good muster of shooters. There were overcast conditions, with light rain in the early part of the programme, but milder conditions later prevailed. There were 22 nominations for the principal match, .an open £SO event. Shooters were up to form in most instances. W. A. Anderson was the winner with a possible, all off the first barrel. At the ninth round J. T. Corbitt was the only other shooter with the full quota, but lie missed his tenth, and he with the other nine with nine on divided the balance of the prize-money. First Miss Ouit, £1 Sweepstake. T. S. Harrison, R. McDonald, A. P. Chamberlain and Allan Anderson each with nine divided the stake. First Miss Out, 10/- Sweepstake. Sixteen rounds were fired by S. H. Anderson and W. M. Holland, when each missed, and each scoring another they divided the sweepstake. W. A. Anderson missed his twelfth, T. S. Anderson his eleventh, and S. M. Jackman his ninth and retired.
