Store Sheep—46 wether hoggets at 20s Id, 31 ewe hoggets at 27s Id. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. AUCKLAND MARKETS. AUCKLAND, August 3. A firming in potatoes and onions has been the chief feature of the local grain and produce markets since the last report. The southern market firmed in consequence of a further shipment to South America having been arranged, and this has been reflected locally in an advance of 5s a ton. Supplies of onions, both southern and Pukekohe, are becoming scarce, and as a consequence, further advances in price have taken place. A good proportion of the offering now available is of poor quality. However, there should be a welcome improvement both as to quality and price before the end of the month, as the Wanganella, due here on August 20, will bring the first shipment arranged by the Government. These are being quoted to arrive at 12s per 1001 b bag. The pollard position continues extremely difficult. Supplies from local mills are not nearly enough for requirements and merchants report a further firming in the Australian position. The local price has been advanced 5s a ton. Bran is in steady demand at late rates. Wheat values are unchanged at 7s 2d to 7s 3d a bushel.
