’PLANE DISASTER
SUBMERGED IN PANAMA CANAL. FOURTEEN OCCUPANTS MISSING. SIXTY-FOUR AIRCRAFT SEARCH. (United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 3. Following fears for the safety of a Pan-American Airways ’plane containing 11 passengers and a crew of three, .flying from Chili to Cristobal, where -t was due last night, a search of the Canal Zone was undertaken by 64 navy ’planes. The ’plane was found submerged with no sign of life aboard.
