Rapanui Hack Handicap Flat, of £55; seven furlongs—Haile Boy 9.2, Brown Lap 9.1, Ruinette 8.13, Bonnie Song 8.5, Ihu 8.2, Perfect Lady 8.2, Fine Stitch 8.2, Pirima 8.2, Paul Robeson 8.2, Holme Fell 8.0, VICTORIA PARK MEETING. SYDNEY, August 2. Mala had his first outing to-day at the Victoria Park bank holiday races, when he had a narrow victory in the Tellers’ Flying Handicap from Buzalong and Silver Standard. Deputy Ruler, who acted as pacemaker, was a creditable fourth. Royal Helena in the same event was unplaced. Red Clover met with interference in the Novice Handicap and ruined her ( chance. Sir Regent, who was third to Black Laughter and Lord Sun in the Welter Handicap, paid nearly double figures on the totalisator. Speardale won the Bank Holiday Handicap. The following was the result of the Tellers’ Flying Handicap—Mala 8.10 (MeCarten) 1, Ruzalong 8.6 2, Silver Standard 8.10 3. There were 14 starters.
