FAILING TO STOP
FINE OF TEN POUNDS IMPOSED. DELICENSED FOR THREE YEARS. COMMENT BY THE JUDGE. (Ter Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Alan Mangels, who pleaded guilty to a charge of having failed to stop his car after an accident, was to-day fined £lO by Mr Justice Northcroft, who prohibited Mangels from holding a licence for three years. The Judge remarked that the offence had been aggravated by the fact that prisoner had previous convictions for offences arising principally out of drink, and that Mangels was at the time-of the offence under a prohibition order. In imposing the penalty, the Judgo said he took into account that Mangels had already been in prison three months, awaiting trial.
