FEAR OF PESTS.
SOUTH AFRICAN PRECAUTIONS.

Because of the increasing fear of pests from overseas, the Department of Agriculture has banned the entry of live worms, shell fisli, fish, centipedes, fleas, beetles, frogs, reptiles, birds, rodents and even goldfish and guinea pigs, which will require a special permit. But dogs and certain other pets are exempted, subject to stricter , quarantine. The entry of rabbits had been previously prohibited.
